Joyful Lake O' The Woods Wedding / Warrenton, NC Photographer

Coming to you on the blog today is Kizzy and Ralph’s September wedding, which is a serious contender for one of the most fun and honestly laid back weddings I have ever had the chance to not only photograph, but to also attend. And seriously folks, how often do you find a wedding that is laid-back?! From the time we arrived in the early afternoon to start the day to late in the evening, it was a non-stop stream of laughing, dancing, hugging, and love. Mingled in with all the fun & laughter, were some genuinely heartwarming moments, too. Like many couples Ralph & Kizzy had never heard of a "First Look" until I explained it to ...

When planning a wedding, oftentimes, bridal decisions are directed by cost even before desire and education. So many couples go without, certified wedding planners, professional makeup artists, and yes even a bridal session due to lack of knowledge and perceived cost. So what is the bridal session? Well, the bridal session is essentially a photoshoot where the bride-to-be will be photographed in her wedding gown, headpiece and/or veil, jewelry, shoes, and flowers. And from this session, the bride-to-be will choose her favorite image to be revealed and displayed at the wedding reception and later on in her home (or in her parent's home, I never got mine, my parents kept it, lol!). So why ...

People! I am so excited to share LaTanis and Antwain’s wedding with you today, which has already been featured, (and deservedly so) in national wedding blog, Borrowed & Blue. These two have impeccable taste, to the point where I cannot even describe how perfect every single detail was. It’s a good thing that I was there to document every single one then, yes? And to think that all of this happened in the middle of Hurricane Matthew! This fabulous couple is truly unstoppable and so was the awesome team of wedding professionals of which I was honored to be a part. From the insanely gorgeous centerpieces and luxe linens to the decadent food and top-notch DJ, there wasn’t a ...

Lynda & Joshua are a beautiful couple. I mean seriously, just gorgeous with amazing style. I had heart eyes for them from the moment I met them for our consultation! Check out how they slayed their engagement session here. It was a blessing to document this couple's sacred, heartwarming ceremony in at Joshua's church surrounded by their family and their friends. Their reception at the lovely River Ridge Golf Club incorporated American wedding traditions, but there is truly no celebration like a Togolese one! And even after all the dancing and a sweet exit surrounded by bubbles, the celebration was only on pause! I was invited back to Cary, NC for the bride & groom's Traditional ...

To say that I was excited to do a shoot at Duke Gardens is an understatement. If you've never visited this beautiful destination, do yourself a favor and take a trip over to Durham and stroll through the gardens. It is absolutely beautiful during any season! Now drop two beautiful souls in love in the middle of these gardens and what we have is pure magic!! Duke Gardens has special meaning for these lovebirds, as this is the place that Joshua chose to gather Lynda's family & friends and surprise her with a marriage proposal while a church friend serenaded them at the grand gazebo! How romantic!! After our time was complete in the gardens, we decided to visit the American Tobacco ...
